Introduction
The Office of Military Training, in addition to providing regular military instruction, also renders counseling services and assistance to students in times of need and emergency.
The Office also offers a two-hour noncredit military training course, which is a prerequisite for all freshmen. Elective military courses are also provided for sophomores and the rest in need. Military training involves lectures and drills in the basic military arts.
Highlight of Teaching
Military Education
The Military Education Research Group investigates curricular schedules and students’ opinions of Military Education courses. We also offer a two-hour noncredit military training course, which is a prerequisite for all freshmen. Elective military courses are also provided for sophomores and the rest in need. Military Education courses include National Security, Technology of National Defense, History of Military Wars, Military Knowledge, and Military Science.
Life Guidance
Military Instructors are appointed to each department to provide students with life guidance.
Administration of Campus Security
Specially appointed staff members are responsible for affairs related to campus security. Conferences on security and protection issues are regularly held. The aim of the Military Education Office is to properly coordinate school resources to cope with possible security crises in order to minimize possible damages.
Deduction of the Military Service
Draftees apply transcripts which are verified (pass the military training course) by the military director and can be deducted the military service days. The total may not exceed 30 days. The draftees born after 1994 apply to the new law, for more details, please contact the office.
Service hours
Military Instructors are on duty twenty-four hours a day in order to ensure an integrated communication network. Close coordination is helpful when having to instantly cope with emergencies and accidents.
Office hours: 8:15 AM ~ 5:00 PM on weekdays (services include: arrangement of Military Education courses, deduction of the military service period, Selection Exam for Reserve Military Officers, and logistic service of administration.)
